We've asked them to share their experiences with us.

"I was initially nervous about finding employment in the electrical field, being that I had never worked in the trades before and the fact that I was a female entering into a very male-dominated field. Teresa from STEP supported me throughout the whole process, which included helping me choose a company that best suited my needs and interests and helping me to create a trades-orientated resume which I feel played an integral role in getting a call back from each company I applied to. I am very grateful for the funding provided by STEP, which enabled me to purchase the tools necessary to get started in the trade without all the financial stress."

"I was coming into the trades without any prior related experience or knowledge aside from school. Dave with STEP took me under his wing. Within a couple of weeks Dave was able to search out shops and set up a couple of interviews, the second one of which I landed a great job at a shop close to my house! I’m learning lots and have already “left the nest” that is my trainer, and I am now starting to work on my own (first of the new trainees to do so.) As a woman entering the workforce it was a little daunting but Dave, without hesitation, worked very hard to help me out and I will be forever grateful."
